Caseys Complete Another Successful Food Drive

RBC announces the final count from our Catholic Schools Week Super Bowl Food Drive and the “score” was a bit different from the actual NFL Super Bowl Game. Junior Ally Cucich spearheaded the food drive with the Super Bowl theme idea. Working with Religion teacher Mrs. Green, NHS moderator Mrs. Mahoney and LIFE Club moderator Sr. Joanmarie, Ally and a group of students set up three donation tables where students would drop their food items. The tables were designated as “Patriots” “Falcons” and “My Team Should Have Been in the Super Bowl."  All week students showed their team spirit and their support for the local community by loading their table of choice with food donations.

The Food Drive brought in just under 800 items which the students donated to area food banks such as Lunch Break and Project Paul. According to Sr. Joanmarie, this year was one of the most successful Catholic Schools Week Food Drives to date.

The final tally did not have the Patriots winning though. The Patriot table brought in 132 items, with the Falcons at 268 and the overall “winner,” with 379 items was the school favorite, “My Team Should Have Been in the Super Bowl.”  As they say, there’s always next year!  No matter the final count, our Caseys were all on the same team to support our neighbors in need.
