Donald Brown Returns to RBC to Share "Natural High" Message with Students

Former NFL Running Back Donald Brown (RBC ’05) came back to his alma mater Red Bank Catholic on Thursday to speak to the students about making smart choices. Brown is celebrity role model for Natural High, a national non-profit drug prevention program designed to inspire and help young people discover and pursue their “natural high.”

Brown made a name for himself as a running back at RBC, where he also ran both winter and spring track. He went on to University of Connecticut where he became the school’s all-time leading rusher. In 2009 he was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts where he played for five years before signing with the San Diego Chargers in 2014. In the 2016 off season he joined the New England Patriots.

Currently a free agent living in Spring Lake with his wife Mallory (Counihan RBC ’04) and two sons, Brown dedicates himself to promoting the positive message of Natural High throughout the country. He has personally championed an effort to pass legislation in New Jersey that would implement the Natural High Drug Prevention curriculum in school districts through New Jersey and has served as a national Natural High Ambassador. He has been featured in Natural High videos and has spoken at school assemblies nationally on behalf of Natural High. In addition to working closely with Natural High to contribute to its curriculum, Brown has been instrumental in leading efforts in his home state of New Jersey to bring to the forefront the important issue of reducing drug use among youths.

At Thursday’s assembly, Natural High representatives recognized Brown for his work to inspire millions of youth nationally and presented him with the 2016 Natural High Game Changer Award.
