St. James Parish in Red Bank, NJ is currently seeking a part time maintenance/custodial assistant from 8:00 am to 2:00 PM Monday through Friday, servicing its church, rectory, performing arts center, Eck Center gymnasium, St. James Elementary School, and Red Bank Catholic High School. Willing to consider full-time position for the right candidate.  Salary range - $20 - $22 per hour with additional salary consideration for those possessing NJ black seal license.  Requirements:

• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude willing to work well with other staff members and take direction accordingly.
• Routinely inspect facilities and report any issues found on the property requiring maintenance attention.
• Must possess basic trouble-shooting skills and prioritization skills for handling a busy complex.
• Must possess skills necessary to perform a variety of simple maintenance/minor repair activities on the interior/exterior areas of the property including, but not limited to, painting, drywall, clearing drain clogs, repairing toilets, replacing lighting as needed, restock restrooms, assist teachers with simple maintenance requests.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lb. items independently.
• Possess ability to operate a variety of simple power equipment necessary to perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs and maintain cleanliness of property.
• Must be physically able to handle set up and break down a large amount of chairs/equipment for various events.
• Periodically inspect air handling, replace filters, and grease components as needed and maintain logs of this preventative maintenance work.
• Custodial duties as needed in various buildings of the complex. May include emptying trash cans, sweeping sidewalks, wet mop sidewalks, operate steam cleaner, operate hand vacuum.
• Assist in inventory control/management/record keeping.
• May perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
• Additional salary bonus consideration for candidates possessing NJ low-pressure boiler black seal license.
