Media Center & Technology

The Red Bank Catholic Media Center provides students and faculty with the best possible resources available for academic research and inquiry.   The Media Center librarian conducts a library orientation for the freshman class during the first two weeks of the school year.  The orientation explains policies, procedures and how to make the most use of the databases RBC provides.

Hours of Operation:  Monday – Friday 7:30am-3:30pm

The Media Center is available to students with a pass from 7:30 am until homeroom or after school (no pass needed) until 3:30.  Students may also use the Media Center during the school day if they have a pass.

Meet the Media Specialist

Mr. Matt Bowen, the Media Center Specialist, is available during hours of operation to assist users with their research and answer questions.
Students are also encouraged to contact Mr. Bowen at bowenm@redbankcatholic.com.

There are 20 computers in the Media Center for students to use to work on assignments, conduct research, and take classes via Virtual High School. Students may also print assignments in the Media Center.  Please see student printing policy below under the procedures section.

Bring Your Own Device Program

We understand that students today have mobile access to limitless, borderless and instantaneous information and resources. In an effort to put students at the center and empower them to take more control of their own learning, RBC invites students to use personal technology devices during the school day.  This technology provides students the ability to access online information and resources, use available online textbooks, take class notes and more.

Students interested in participating in the program are required to adhere to the responsibilities stated in the Bring Your Own Device Guidelines.  Use the link to fill out the online form after reading the guidelines.

Research Databases:

Red Bank Catholic has many research databases available for students to access while they are in school or from home.  Freshmen learn how to use the database system during their Media Center orientation.  Media Center staff will provide interested students with instructions how to access the databases from home.

Technology Room:

Within the Media Center is “The Quig,” a classroom equipped with state-of-the-art educational technology and 28 computers where teachers can conduct classes and students can work on assignments. “The Quig” is named in memory of 1993 RBC graduate Beth Quigley who was a victim of the September 11th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
