This course is a mandatory 4 week program for students to enroll in AP Calculus directly from Honors Algebra II/Trigonometry. The course will cover the Pre-Calculus topics necessary for success in AP Calculus. Students MUST have earned a “A” average in the Honors Algebra II/Trigonometry course, been approved by their counselor, and have been prescheduled for the Summer Pre-Calculus course prior to registration. Students MUST attend all 4 weeks. A minimum grade of “A“is required to qualify for the AP Calculus course.

**Credit will be noted on student’s transcript for successful course completion/attendance.**

This course is a mandatory 4 week program for students to enroll in Honors Algebra II/Trigonometry directly from Algebra I. This is an intensive class covering all of the topics in our Honors Geometry class. Students will be required to attend all in-class lessons, as well as complete video lessons at home. Placement for the following school year will be based on the student’s grade earned in summer class.

A- or better - Honors Algebra II & Trig, C+ or better - ACP Algebra II, C or below - Honors Geometry

The Capstone Social Sciences Research Writing Workshop (9 hours) Media Center

This is a two-week seminar that will introduce students to social scientific research methodology and research writing. The seminar serves as an introduction to research ethics, types of social science research, and the use of academic databases and university library facilities. It will also explore the process of writing, editing, and presenting a college-level research paper or project in the humanities and social sciences. The workshop is a prerequisite for the Psychology and History capstone projects, and is open to students who will be juniors and seniors enrolled in Honors and AP level History and Psychology course offerings for the 2023-24 school year.

College Essay Writing & Common Application Process  **Rising Seniors!!!(10 hours) Media Center

What does it take to be accepted into a renowned college? Two components are the college essay and The Common Application. Get ahead of the game by doing some of your college prep work over the summer! This class will help you define that poignant moment to write your essay about so that yours will be the memorable application. It will focus on various college essay topics and help you comprise a polished, perfect essay.
