This course is designed for incoming freshmen who want to enhance their organizational, writing, and math skills to ensure a smooth transition to high school academics. Through engaging lessons and targeted practice, students will develop essential strategies for effective time management, clear and structured writing, and fundamental math proficiency. This program is ideal for students seeking to strengthen their academic foundation and build confidence as they begin their high school journey.

Algebra II Prep - Ideal for students entering Algebra II (4 Days)

Cost: $300

Course Description:

This comprehensive summer prep course is designed for students entering Algebra II, providing them with the foundational skills and concepts necessary for success in the upcoming school year. Through targeted lessons and practice, students will explore key topics, including:

• Polynomials: Multiplying and factoring polynomials to build a solid understanding of algebraic expressions.
• Solving Quadratics: Mastering techniques for solving quadratic equations, including factoring, completing the square, using square roots, and applying the quadratic formula.
• Solving Systems of Equations: Learning methods for solving systems of linear equations through graphing, substitution, and elimination.
• Graphing Piecewise Functions: Understanding and graphing piecewise functions to represent real-world scenarios.
• Parallel Lines: Analyzing angles formed by a transversal and exploring the properties of parallel and perpendicular lines in the coordinate plane.
• Pythagorean Theorem & Trigonometry: Applying the Pythagorean theorem to solve problems involving right triangles and learning the fundamentals of trigonometry, including special right triangles.

Algebra Intensive  (4 Days)

Course Description:

The Algebra Intensive course is designed for students preparing to enter Geometry or Algebra II, offering a comprehensive review of foundational algebraic concepts. This course will guide students through key topics such as solving equations, including solving for variables and linear inequalities, and graphing linear functions and inequalities. Students will also explore absolute value functions and quadratic equations.

Key learning objectives include:

• Writing equations of lines using slope and y-intercept, point and slope, or two points, and expressing them in slope-intercept and standard form.
• Understanding and working with parallel and perpendicular lines.
• Simplifying, multiplying, and dividing exponents.
• Mastering operations with radicals, including simplification, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, and rationalization.
• Multiplying and factoring polynomials.
• Solving systems of equations through graphing, substitution, and elimination methods.

This course is ideal for students who need to solidify their algebra skills and build confidence before moving on to more advanced math courses. With a focus on practice and application, students will develop a strong algebraic foundation necessary for future mathematical success.

Pre-Calculus 2.5 credits, graded (4-Week Course, 44 Hours) 

Cost $625

Course Description:

This course is a mandatory 4-week program for students to enroll in AP Calculus directly from Honors Algebra II/Trigonometry. The course will cover the Pre-Calculus topics necessary for success in AP Calculus. This intensive class covers all of the topics in our Honors Pre-Calculus class.

• Students MUST have earned an “A” average in the Honors Algebra II/Trigonometry course, been approved by their counselor, and have been pre-scheduled for the Summer Pre-Calculus course prior to registration. 
• Students MUST attend all 4 weeks. A minimum grade of “A-“is required to qualify for the AP Calculus course.

**Credit will be noted on student’s transcript for successful course completion/attendance.**

**Credit is not used in GPA calculation.**

Heroic Habits for High School Success: Executive Function & Organization Workshop
Two-Day Summer Enrichment Course
Cost: $100 – Includes a daily planning agenda, a notebook, and all workshop materials

Success in high school begins with strong habits—and this two-day workshop is designed to give students the tools they need to start organized, focused, and confident.

In this hands-on, practical experience, students will learn and actively practice essential executive functioning skills, including:

• Effective note-taking strategies
• Using a daily planning system to manage assignments, tests, and activities
• Organizing materials and information using a streamlined, single-notebook approach
• Prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently
• Building routines that support consistency, accountability, and follow-through

Each student will receive a daily planning agenda and a notebook, which will be used throughout the workshop and can be implemented immediately for the upcoming school year.

Through guided instruction, structured practice, and interactive activities, students will leave with a clear system for staying organized and on track—reducing stress and increasing confidence.

This course is especially valuable for incoming freshmen, but all students are welcome. Whether a student is highly motivated or simply looking for better ways to stay organized, this workshop provides a strong foundation for academic success and personal responsibility.

Students will walk away not only with tools—but with a system they can rely on from the very first day of school.

Capstone Social Sciences Research Writing Workshop (4 Days)

Cost: $200

Course Description:

This course is designed to guide rising juniors and seniors through the process of conducting and writing a student-directed research paper, focusing on the skills required for academic success in undergraduate social sciences and humanities courses. Students will learn how to formulate and refine a focused research question, utilize university libraries and academic databases such as JSTOR and Lexis-Nexis for gathering credible sources, and develop an annotated bibliography. Emphasis will be placed on constructing a clear and arguable thesis statement, outlining the structure of the research paper, and refining writing through drafting and revision. By the end of the workshop, students will have the tools and confidence to produce a well-researched and cohesive academic paper.

Course Description:

What does it take to stand out in a competitive college admissions process? A compelling college essay and a completed Common Application are essential components. Take the initiative this summer to get a head start on your college preparation! In this course, students will explore impactful essay topics and craft a powerful narrative highlighting a defining moment. By the end of the course, each student will have a polished, memorable college essay. Additionally, students will complete the entire Common Application, ensuring they are fully prepared to submit their applications when the course concludes.

International Leadership (4 Days)

Course Description:

Students will learn the skills of conflict mediation, negotiation, and public speaking while researching contemporary global issues and working with the United Nations. Students will have the opportunity to prepare presentations on these issues to one or more bodies of the UN organization.
