The Robert Horn Scholarship
 

This four year scholarship is endowed by Robert Horn, a 1956 Red Bank Catholic graduate. Mr. Horn credits the foundation he received at RBC for his ability to pursue a successful career in the banking industry. The scholarship is awarded to one promising incoming freshman who demonstrates both academic success and financial need and offers funding to offset the cost of tuition.  Scholarship recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be in good standing with the school.

Beth Anne Popolo Bach Memorial Scholarship
 

Beth Anne Popolo Bach, a 1984 Red Bank Catholic graduate, was an honor student, captain of the gymnastics team and an enthusiastic Casey.  Beth Anne lost her battle with cancer at the age of 43, leaving behind a loving husband and three young children.  Her family and friends established the Beth Anne Popolo Bach Memorial Scholarship to honor this outstanding alumna and to give RBC tuition assistance to a student who personifies Beth Anne’s love for Red Bank Catholic, her dedication to academics, and her commitment to the RBC community.  Special consideration will be given to students who have a family member who is struggling with an illness.

dennis p. Lynch '59 Merit scholarship
 

The Dennis P. Lynch ’59 Merit Scholarship is generously donated by the Lynch Family in memory of Dennis’s exemplary character and love of his alma mater. After a full and remarkable life as a leader, mentor, friend, husband and father, Dennis died on April 10, 2021.

The Lynch Scholarship is a four-year, full tuition merit scholarship awarded annually to an incoming freshman who has proven to be a well-rounded student leader, dedicated to learning and personal growth. The student selected will be expected to remain in good standing at RBC. Lynch Scholars will be encouraged to use their God-given talents to live the mission established by the Sisters of Mercy in an active way in both the school and the larger community.

In accepting the award, each recipient should understand and appreciate Dennis’s legacy in work and in life, as well as his respect and love for his alma mater. The Lynch Scholar should also remember that with receiving this prestigious honor comes the responsibility of embracing Dennis’s values and aspiring to be someone of whom he would have been proud.

Kelly Anne Gordon Memorial Scholarship

 

Kelly Anne Gordon, a 2010 Red Bank Catholic graduate, was a Boston College student who lost her life in a tragic accident in New York City one month before she was slated to receive her diploma. To honor her memory, Kelly’s family and friends fund an annual scholarship for an incoming Red Bank Catholic freshman who, like Kelly, has demonstrated a desire to be extraordinary in a particular passion, with the hope to inspire others to do the same.  The student’s passion can be for anything that inspires them, such as community service, performing arts, or any extraordinary activity.

The Maureen Hopkins Sutphen Memorial Scholarship 

 

Maureen Hopkins Sutphen, RBC ’78, understood what it means to be a Casey.  She was a member of the elite undefeated 1974-1977 Red Bank Catholic gymnastics teams and returned to her alma mater as a coach to ensure that current Casey gymnasts understood the responsibility and honor that come with wearing the green and gold. Before each match, Coach Sutphen posted inspirational quotes in the locker room to inspire the team. One of the last ones she posted is a fitting tribute to all Caseys:  

Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them—a desire, a dream, a vision.

Family and friends of Coach Sutphen established the Maureen Hopkins Sutphen Memorial Scholarship to provide tuition assistance to a Red Bank Catholic student who demonstrates need.

The Maureen Joy Memorial Scholarship

 

Maureen and Morton "Bud" Joy had a devotion to their faith that was a guiding light for their entire lives. Maureen and Bud  were shining examples of Christ's children, living in faith and sharing true kindness to all those around them. The love for their family was unwavering and left behind a strong family bond that remains. While Maureen lived her life for faith and family, Bud was a beloved businessman in Red Bank for many years.

The Joy's four daughters all attended Red Bank Catholic, as did many of their grandchildren. The Joy Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student involved in campus ministry who displays a commitment to serving others in their school and community. The student is also chosen for their kindness and compassion towards others.

Rose Annmarie Rusch Memorial Scholarship
 

Colleen and Douglas Rusch established the Rose Annmarie Rusch Foundation, Inc. to honor their daughter Rose who passed away in 2011 after complications from an open heart surgery. Rose, a fifth grade student at St. James, was a member of the JV Cheerleading Team.  More so, Rose was a “cheerleader of life.” She brought joy to everyone she met, and had a gift to make people laugh, smile and feel special.   The Rose Annmarie Rusch Foundation focuses its work on helping those less fortunate and providing educational scholarships to students who demonstrate their commitment to giving back to the community.

Ned Robinson Memorial Scholarship

 

The Ned Robinson Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Ned Robinson, (RBC '77), who lost his life in a tragic accident in 1995.  Ned’s years at Red Bank Catholic, and especially the friends he made as a Casey, meant the world to him.  His family and friends established the Ned Robinson Memorial Foundation to fund a scholarship as a way to celebrate and honor Ned's life with the goal of helping others have the opportunity to attend his beloved high school, Red Bank Catholic. High school was such a big part of Ned's life and RBC meant the world to him. The Ned Robinson Memorial Foundation Committee selects scholarship recipients based on financial need.

Julia DeFelice Memorial Scholarship

 

DeFelice family and friends established The Julia DeFelice Memorial Scholarship in memory of Julia, a beloved RBC alumna who exemplified the quality of student Red Bank Catholic is proud to call a Casey.  She lived life with heart, body and soul, giving to the people around her and was ready to make an impact on the world.  Julia embraced life at RBC and her family wishes the recipient to have the same kind of fulfillment.  RBC is honored to be entrusted with this important legacy.

Thomas Labrecque Family Scholarship

 

The Thomas Labrecque family partners with RBC to support the collaboration between RBC and the Mercy Center of Asbury Park and enables students to come to RBC when that may not have had that opportunity without this support.

The Marjorie and Theodore Labrecque Scholarship 

 

This scholarship was established in honor of a family who selflessly and generously supported Red Bank Catholic High School.   This $1000 one time scholarship is awarded to a RBC student giving preference to a family that has more than one student attending Red Bank Catholic High School.  This is a need-based scholarship. The recipient is expected to maintain acceptable academic and discipline records during the term of the scholarship.  Candidates are approved by the Director of Admissions.

Arnone Scholarship

 

This multi-generational RBC family has generously donated funds that support RBC families to meet their tuition obligations.  The Arnone family honors the RBC traditions and values.  Candidates are selected through an internal selection process.  Applications are not accepted for this scholarship.

THe wally Case scholarship

 

Wally was raised in Middletown, NJ and was a proud member of the Red Bank Catholic High School Class of 1981.  Wally had a love for football that started with Pop Warner. He played for RBC where he was a tri-sport athlete in football, wrestling, and track.  Wally was a star-athlete leading the Caseys in tackles, was a team captain, and received the Lombardi Award. He was an all-Monmouth team member.  In wrestling, he competed at the unlimited weight class and for his light weight he was outstanding on the mat.

The Wally Case Memorial Scholarship was created by Wally’s sons, friends and classmates in memory of his strength, courage, compassion, and love for RBC. The fund supports like-minded students who aspire to an education that is beyond the reach of the family’s financial capacity.  This scholarship is awarded to a Casey student for their well-rounded achievements.

RBC Faculty Funded Scholarship

 

This scholarship is funded by our current faculty and given each year to a family with emergent needs.  Administration selects candidates considering recommendations from faculty and staff.  All recipients are confidential.

 The Sisters Academy Scholarship

 

RBC began collaborating with the Mercy Center in Asbury Park back in 2001 to enable families from the Asbury Park and Neptune district to send their students to Red Bank Catholic.  This collaboration has provided over 100 students with an RBC education and assisted in opening doors to esteemed colleges and universities.

Casey Fellow Scholarship

 

The Casey Fellow Scholarship is awarded to incoming freshman students each year. Scholarships are determined by private nomination, based upon academic achievement. For each of our Casey Fellow Scholars, $10,000.00 will be applied each year, for four years, to your family’s tuition account, provided you consistently maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. This is a significant honor and an extraordinary opportunity. These scholarship award recipients will be determined in mid-December by an internal scholarship committee.

Mercy Scholars Scholarship

 

The Mercy Scholarship was instituted by RBC in honor of the Sisters of Mercy who founded our school. This scholarship is awarded to a limited number of incoming freshman students each year who are coming to RBC from a Catholic grade school, and/or from a Catholic parish community. Academic achievement, extracurricular involvement are considered by a scholarship committee in order to award the Mercy Scholarship.

The Monsignor Philip Lowery Scholarship

 

The Monsignor Philip Lowery Scholarship was established by Monsignor Lowery and is now awarded in his memory. Monsignor Lowery served the RBC and St. James communities as Pastor for 29 years. This scholarship acknowledges the achievements of select St. James School graduates who are enrolling at Red Bank Catholic for the upcoming year as incoming freshmen.
