Congratulations Class of 2018

On Monday, June 4th, Red Bank Catholic High School celebrated the commencement of the Class of 2018 beginning with a Baccalaureate Mass at Monmouth University. The 215 members of the class have been accepted to 267 colleges and universities and earned a collective total of  $31,454,982 in scholarship awards as reported by 80 percent (172 students) of the class.

Bishop David M. O’Connell presided over Baccalaureate Mass in the morning, which was followed by light refreshments for the graduates, families, and faculty.  Reverend Monsignor Philip Lowery, Director, and Mr. Robert Abatemarco, Principal, presented the graduates with their diplomas at the Commencement Ceremony in the afternoon.  Valedictorian Kaitlyn Wood, who will attend Georgetown University, and Salutatorian Lauren Walker, who will attend the University of Notre Dame, delivered addresses during graduation.  The Bishop George W. Ahr Award for Excellence in Religion was presented to Austin Nappi in recognition of his dedication to community service and participation in Campus Ministry. The following students were presented with the award for Academic Excellence for Four Years:  Carly Friend, Alexis Fuda, Jyllissa Harris, Angela Magahis, Bridgin Murrer, Isabel O’Hara, Jacqueline Reiger, Timothy Saleh, Lauren Walker, and Kaitlyn Wood.

The Red Bank Catholic faculty and administration are proud of the members of the Class of 2018 for their accomplishments in the classroom, on the playing field, on the stage, and in the community.

In addition to the scholarships earned by the members of this class, 28 graduates earned the President’s Award for Academic Excellence for having a cumulative 4.0 GPA or greater at the end of seven semesters, 29 will be college athletes in 12 different sports, 75 completed an internship through our Labrecque Leadership Institute and 59 were members of the National Honor Society.
