Posted 06/26/2018 12:55PM

On Saturday, June 23rd a sold-out crowd of over 300 RBC alumni, friends and families filled the RBC Vincent J. Eck Student Center to celebrate the induction of the Red Bank Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame 2018 Class. Instituted in 2016, the RBC Athletic Hall of Fame celebrates those who have distinguished and brought honor to Red Bank Catholic through their athletic accomplishments.

The evening began with Mass in St. James Church celebrated by Pastor Monsignor Phillip Lowery, followed by cocktail hour and sit-down dinner in the Eck Center where generations of Caseys enjoyed reconnecting with old friends, teammates, coaches and teachers to celebrate this year’s inductees.

Members of the 2018 Class are: Ralph “Doc”Corley ’61- football, Jim Daly ’75- cross country and track & field, Tim McCabe’83- golf, Al Golden ’87- football, Christine Furlong O’Connell ’87- gymnastics, Mary Pat Erickson Moriarty ’93- cross country and track & field, Natalie Cocchi Gorman- soccer, Coach Al Forte- football ’59-66, the 1995-96 Girls Basketball Team, the 1976 Football Team, and John Mautner ’65, who received the 2018 Msgr. Casey Award of Honor.

In addition to honoring distinguished Casey athletes, the mission of the RBC Athletic Hall of Fame is to help make a Red Bank Catholic education available to deserving students lacking the financial means to attend. Thanks to the generous support of the RBC community, the 2018 Athletic Hall of Fame raised over fifty thousand dollars in support of the RBC Student Financial Assistance Fund, to help current students stay and continue their education at Red Bank Catholic.

The Casey Spirit shared by thousands of RBC alumni shone brightly Saturday evening with the energy and enthusiasm of the crowd filling the room. It was clear everyone was happy to be a part of a tradition that will continue to support the newest members of the Casey Family, so they too may have the opportunity to benefit from a Red Bank Catholic education.

If you would like to make a contribution to the RBC Athletic Hall of Fame Financial Assistance Fund, please use the link to the online Athletic Hall of Fame Student Assistance Giving Form. Red Bank Catholic thanks the RBC Community for your continued generous support.

Once a Casey, Always a Casey.
