To commemorate Veteran's Day, the Red Bank Catholic Military Career Club sponsored a Dress Down Day to support the Wounded Warrior Project. Club president Mike Reverendo and vice president Mathew Lamb, both seniors, presented the idea to school administration and received the approval to move forward.

Mike Reverendo, who aspires to be a US Marine, said he "could not think of a better way to honor veterans on Veterans Day than to do what we can to support the Wounded Warrior Project." According to the organization's website, the mission of the Wounded Warrior Project is to "honor and empower wounded warriors. WWP's purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, to help severely injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs."

Mike reached out to the WWP to become an official student ambassador so the Military Career Club could begin their fundraising plans. To raise awareness about their campaign, club members made flyers and posted them throughout the school and gave out Wounded Warrior bracelets. They asked students to wear red, white and blue on Veterans Day and to make a donation. At the end of the day, they raised close to $2,000 which will go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Mathew Lamb wishes to become a Navy SEAL. He and Mike founded the club last year under the direction of club moderator Mr. Ted Jarmusz and are proud to share the fact that club membership has grown from less than 10 members in its first year to 24 members today.
