Dress Code

Members of the Red Bank Catholic student community wear the RBC uniform proudly.  We ask parents for your help in making sure your child is dressed properly for school and in compliance with the Uniform Code as outlined in the RBC Handbook.  This includes the wearing of the student ID card which needs to be visible at all times.

Uniforms are purchased at Flynn & O’Hara, Kohl's Plaza, 2145 Route 35, Holmdel, NJ, 07733 or on line at www.flynnohara.com  If you choose to go to the store in Holmdel, try to go before July 15th and avoid rainy days. Otherwise, you may be there for a while since it services all parochial schools in 4 counties.  The mandatory uniform includes skirts, pants, golf shirts and sweaters from Flynn and O'Hara.  White oxford shirts, white turtlenecks, socks and tights may be purchased elsewhere, as long as they are in compliance with the published dress code. Gentlemen are required to have their shirts, both golf and oxford type, tucked in at all times.  All cotton tee-shirts worn under the golf shirt or oxford shirt, for both boys and girls, may ONLY be white and have no printing on them.

See the 2015-16 Student Handbook for specific uniform requirements.

Comfortable black or brown shoes are within code.  Because students will be traversing many stairwells on any given day, it is recommended that heels do not exceed 1 ½ inches.  Sneakers are not allowed.  Boots are not allowed.  Open toed or open backed shoes are not allowed.  Only black or brown shoes are allowed.

Golf shirts, sweat shirts and gym clothes can be purchased at all times in the school bookstore.

Dress down days occur periodically, and are usually fundraisers for various classes or clubs.  To participate, the homeroom moderator will collect a fee for the privilege of dressing down for the day and that money will be forwarded to the appropriate group or organization.  “Dress Down” means you can wear your golf shirt with jeans and sneakers.

Changeover from fall to winter uniform, and from winter to spring uniform, is usually made around Thanksgiving and Easter, respectively.  Announcements of the specific date for changing the uniform will be made on the RBC web site, in Homeroom and in the classrooms.

We ask your partnership in helping our students understand the importance of and compliance with the dress code.  Your intervention will help your student avoid accumulating demerits for dress code violations.
