The Honors Intro to Engineering Class recently completed their latest project with much success. Students worked in pairs to design and construct "pick and place" robots to grip one square “Lego” piece located in one quadrant, lift it over a retaining wall and then deposit it on the other side. Each robot required a swivel, an elbow rotator and a gripper.
In the first part of the project, the students built the robot to operate via remote control, and in the second phase they programmed the computer to run the robot independently.
Once again, the students impressed members of the Administration with a demonstration of the "arms" during the 2017 Robotic Arm Competition. Great work, Caseys!
