Donald Brown (RBC'05) to be Inducted into RBC Athletic Hall of Fame
Posted 04/18/2017 09:00AM
Donald Brown (RBC '05) will be inducted into the 2017 Class of the Red Bank Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame at the Induction Ceremony to be held on June 17th.  Born and raised in Atlantic Highlands, Donald showed signs at a very young age that football was his passion. This passion directed his pursuit for both an esteemed education and athletic experience which landed him at Red Bank Catholic. He entered RBC in 2001 and competed in football and track and field for four years. His experience in both sports, the lessons he learned both inside and outside the classroom, along with the lasting friendships he made have blessed Donald with the utmost fulfilling high school experience. The moral compass emphasized and reaffirmed within the walls on Peter’s Place prepared him well for all the opportunities he has encountered to date.

After graduating from RBC, Donald attended the University of Connecticut. There he earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, while also earning notable accolades in his football career. He led the nation in rushing yards, and received All-American Honors.

Donald was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 2009 as the 27th pick in the first round. During his five-year run as a Colt, he had the honor of participating in Super Bowl XLIV. While an active member in the National Football League, Donald was able to further advance his education. He attended the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business Executive Program and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business Executive MBA Program.

In 2014, he became a free agent and signed with the San Diego Chargers. After his time in San Diego, Donald signed with the New England Patriots and spent the following off-season with the team until suffering a lower extremity injury. After a much-enjoyed brief retirement, Donald accepted a position with San Diego State University’s Athletic Department equipping student-athletes with the necessary skill sets to thrive academically, athletically and socially.

Donald also serves as an Athlete Ambassador for Natural High, a national nonprofit drug prevention program that inspires and empowers young people to find their “natural high” and to develop the skills and courage to live life well. He also works with International Justice Mission, a worldwide nonprofit that fights to abolish modern day slavery.

Donald’s greatest privilege is being a husband to his wife Mallory (RBC ‘04), and father to his children Hudson (4), Piersen (2), and Jude (2 months.)
