Red Bank Catholic Casey Players are proud to present Neil Simon's Pulitzer Prize winning play, Lost in Yonkers, the piece the New York Post called "the best play Simon ever wrote." This dramatic comedy has heart, humor and hope. The original hit Broadway production featured Irene Worth, Mercedes Ruehl and Kevin Spacey in award-winning performances.
Written by America's great comedic playwright, this "memory" play is set in a Yonkers in 1942, and features some of Simon's most memorable characters. Bella, played by senior Olivia Rauso, is 35-years-old, mentally challenged and lives at home with her mother, the stern Grandma Kurnitz (played by senior, Sabrina Caci). As the play opens, ne'er do well son Eddie (senior, Timothy di Domenico) deposits his two young sons, Jay (senior, Christopher Mallamaci) and Arty (freshman, Baylor Rodman) on the old lady's doorstep. He is financially strapped and taking to the road to try his luck as a salesman. The boys are left to contend with Grandma, Bella, Bella's secret romance, her brother Louie, the small-time hoodlum in a strange new world called Yonkers, (played by sophomore John Gnazzo), and the ever petrified Aunt Gertrude played by junior, Sarah Hough.
Tickets for Lost in Yonkers will be on sale in the Red Bank Catholic High School bookstore, weekdays from 10am until 3pm, beginning on Monday, November 3rd through Friday, November 7th. For information, call Red Bank Catholic at (732) 747-1774.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students.Performances for Lost in Yonkers will run from Thursday, November 6tth through Saturday, November 8th (all performances at 7:00pm). Performances are presented on the historic Broad Street Auditorium stage at Red Bank Catholic High School, 112 Broad Street in downtown Red Bank.
